In high school, I wanted Adidas shoes – the white shoes with the blue stripes.  All the cool and popular kids had them and I wanted them.  If I had those shoes, I would be cool, and everything would be great.  If I just had those shoes.  I look “out there “and I want.  A bigger house.  A different car.  A better meal.  A better vacation.  A better body.  A smarter brain.  A bigger heart.  Whatever I don’t have and looks better than what I have (and what it looks like everyone else wants and has), I want.  The funny thing is that I look at all the “better” things and I never fully appreciate what I do have – and yes, I have more than many people in the world.  But that’s not enough.  Will anything ever be enough?  No.  There will always be more to want.  It is a never-ending quest.  It’s better to be happy with what I have and who I am – not in a “oh well, this is as good as it gets” way.  But with true acceptance and love for who I am and what I bring to the world.  I am an individual with unique talents who was brought to this world at this time in this place for a reason.
